Comparison of Operating Microscope and Exoscope in a Highly Challenging Experimental Setting

The use of a digital three-dimensional (3D) exoscope system in neurosurgery is increasing as an alternative to the operative microscope. objective this study was compare 3D with standard operating microscope neurosurgical visualization tool highly challenging experimental setting. End-to-side bypass procedures, each at depth 9 cm, were performed simulation quality task and effect, visualization, magnification, illumination, ergonomics evaluated. No major differences noted between terms work. Working more time-consuming than working Changing focus faster using enabled higher magnification offered better ergonomic features. In setting, comparable procedural found for exoscope. Each had advantages disadvantages. Over time technologic advances, may become main microneurosurgery.
